Hi, my name is Michael. I'm currently a PhD Candidate at Colorado State University. I'm an alum of Washington University in St. Louis, and I've had several internships in the robotics and automation industries. I research robotic kinematics, geometry processing, and domain-specific computing. In my free time, I climb, photograph nature, and run.
August 2022 - June 2024
Deployed and supported advanced path planning software for multiple industrial customers.
May 2021 - August 2022
Developed path planning algorithms for high degree-of-freedom robotic systems in welding applications.
February 2021 - April 2021
Assembled custom, high-value automation products for customers. Assembly required knowledge to read mechanical and electrical diagrams, as well as the ability to operate heavy machinery.
May 2020 - August 2020
Researched and implemented robotic systems to automate medical lab work. Automated procedures included centrifuge tending, pipetting, and Covid-19 test processing.
May 2019 - August 2019 and May 2018 - August 2018
Researched constrained neural networks and their effective implementation on limited, general-purpose CPUs. The research focused on ternary neural network and acceleration via bitwise operations.
May 2017 - August 2017
Compared different methods of data transfer for small IoT devices. Provided field support for prototype connected products. Implemented an over-the-air firmware update solution.
August 2019 - Present
August 2015 - May 2019
